For the import and sale of special food products, such as dietary supplements, baby food, sports nutrition, medical nutrition, state registration is required (state expert opinion).

Registration of special food products is carried out by the Analytical Expertise Center (AEC) of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan. As a result, the company receives an expert opinion valid for 1 year.

The procedure consists of two stages: expert evaluation of the dossier and laboratory tests of the samples. Samples of the finished product are required to carry out the procedure.

Registration documents are accepted in Azerbaijani, Russian or English. When submitting documentation in other languages, it is necessary to submit a notarized translation into Azerbaijani.

Instructions for use should be presented in Azerbaijani, and labeling may be presented in Russian, English, Azerbaijani or Turkish.

The procedure for obtaining all the necessary documents for import and placement on the market takes about 2 months. The expert opinion is issued for a period of 1 year.
