Registration of cosmetics in the Republic of Uzbekistan is regulated by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 131 dated April 30, 2016 “On approval of the provisions on the procedure for licensing procedures in the system of sanitary and epidemiological service of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

According to the legislation, the import and production of perfumes and cosmetics is carried out with a permission of the authorized body. Legislation stipulates permissive requirements and conditions for import, a list of necessary documents and samples, the time frame for obtaining an authorization, renewal of the authorization.

Importation of perfumes and cosmetics can be carried out by legal entities and individuals.

To obtain authorization, the competent authority shall be provided with samples in the quantity required for toxicological testing, as well as a short dossier in the state and (or) Russian language, confirming the safety and quality of the product.

The competent authority performs an expert evaluation of the Application, issues an authorization within a period not exceeding 120 working days from the date of submission of the Application, including the timing of the toxicological and hygienic assessment.

The authorization is issued for an unlimited period.
